Why Skitchin'?

Looking for a new project to tackle, I remembered a comment on my Eliminate Down Remix video from marcos-lq2nh, who mentioned how awkward it felt to switch weapons in Skitchin’ and suggested adding 6-button controller support.
While replaying the game to explore improvements, I also realised how much it would benefit from a proper save system. The existing passwords are long, frequently regenerated, and generally discourage players from writing them down or entering them to continue.

Hack features:

• SRAM save system with three available slots, loading or deleting save files is done from the password screen. Saving progress can be done before each race.
• 6 button support functions as a non-intrusive option; none of the original functionality was removed.
  X: left weapon, Y: Mid weapon, Z: Right weapon, Mode: Accel (allows for jumping while accelerating)
  With the ultimate cheat enabled, pressing a weapon select button or down + weapon select button of an already selected slot cycles the weapon up or down
• Region Lock Disabled
